Music Store Live is proud to present this Guild USA M-20 Mahogany Concert! After a hiatus from making guitars in the USA, Guild has made a return to domestic builds by introducing a couple of iconic and classic acoustics. This M-20 is a fine example of the sort of superb craftsmanship you can expect out of USA Guilds. It’s very comfortable to play and has a loud and balanced sound. The all-mahogany construction makes this an ideal acoustic for recording as the bass, mid-range, and treble responses are all even and no frequencies jump out any more than any other ones. The mid-range presence is also really nice and warm when playing with other instruments as it keeps the sound of the guitar clean and distinct even in a band with, say, a couple of other guitarists, a drummer, bass player, pianist, etc. At this price point, this has to be one of the better USA-built acoustics hitting the market. The LR Baggs Element VTC is a very high-quality pickup and preamp that will accurately convey the beautiful acoustic sound of this guitar into an amp, PA system, or recording device.

Guild’s iconic M-20 was the first guitar off the production line in 1967, when the company had grown so much that they relocated to a new factory in Westerly, RI. Nearly 50 years later, history has repeated itself in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in California. The M-20 is a concert size acoustic guitar built with solid mahogany top, back, and sides, informally nicknamed “the Nick Drake guitar” for its inclusion on the album art for Drake’s album “Bryter Layter.” It features a rosewood bridge and fingerboard, bone nut and saddle, and an extremely light satin finish that allows the guitar to truly sing. The M-20’s modest appointments include a vintage style rosette and Guild’s peak logo inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the headstock. Each M-20 comes with a hand-signed, numbered certificate of authenticity, and ships with a hardshell case. Available in Natural, Vintage Sunburst, Natural with LR Baggs pickup, and Sunburst with LR Baggs pickup.
