Everywhere you look on this beauty is a feast for the eyes. The body, knobs, control cover and pickup covers are all made out of gorgeous figured Bubinga burl wood that’s figured as all heck. The fretboard is a tigerstripe ebony piece while the neck has wenge, bubinga, and maple in it. Along with the beautiful aesthetic, everything from the tuners, to the neck, down to the body has an incredible feel and it’s instantly evident that Warwick’s top builders were put to task on this one. They don’t call it “masterbuilt” for nothing. But, of course, this bass is much more than just a good-looking instrument. The attention to detail throughout is simply immaculate and the overall feel is incredible, but this will be equally matched by the powerful tone this pumps out.

The Thumb is one of Warwick’s most popular designs, but you’re not going to find another one out there quite like this. While the name certainly sounds like this bass is made for slappers, and rest assured, it has a killer slap tone, anybody from funkers to rockers will dig the tight and punchy tone that comes out of these Thumb basses. It’s much more versatile than the name suggests and is often the bass of choice for anybody that wants a bass thunderous tone that that remains articulate and growls like a polar bear just stepped on a thumbtack (in a good way)!
